It was real nice to pull up the news this morning and see the president taking responsibility for our nation’s stuttered rescue of stranded hurricane survivors in New Orleans. “Katrina exposed serious problems in our response capability at all levels of government,” Mr. Bush said. “And to the extent that the federal government didn’t fully do [...] In case you are wondering what people on a remote Nicaraguan Island do to pass the time, here is a picture of our dartboard at Casa Iguana. Winter has hit Maui. Although it started out sunny, the rest of the day was blustery, cold and wet. Anyone who says there are no seasons in the tropics isn’t opening their eyes. It was the perfect day to sit at our desks and work on all those little projects sunny days keep us away from. [...] In the wake of last week’s presidential election, the tension is palpable on the highways and in the letters to the editor. We were rear-ended while sitting at a stop sign yesterday.
