STEPPING INTO A NEW LIFE

The path to the lighthouse on Little Corn Island

When I close my eyes at night, I am walking up this path, north across the island. There are no sirens, no dodging of cars, no blinding lights. Only the singing of insects and the feel of the earth beneath my feet.
