IMPROVISED WAR

Stop saying that!
Stop saying that!
With opposition to the war on Iraq growing daily, I think it is beyond time for an exit strategy. Who said this? – “Victory means exit strategy, and it’s important for the president to explain to us what the exit strategy is.”

According to this article, Exit Strategy? Honor Our Troops – Bring Them Home,

“It was said in April 1999, in reference to President Clinton’s military intervention in Kosovo, by a Republican governor named George W. Bush.”

That advice, however, is apparently long forgotten. Sadly, it seems that there is no plan to end the carnage.

“We don’t know what the next steps are because President Bush won’t tell us, which leads me to believe he doesn’t know. In other words, he’s improvising.”

“Meanwhile, the president can muster nothing more than the same old shopworn rhetoric: Terrorism bad, freedom good. For a nation paying a steep price in blood and money, honesty and transparency is not too much to ask in return. We deserve better, and the extraordinary men and women who wear the uniform most certainly deserve better.”
